About Me

May 6th, 2007

Welcome to my world!  As you can tell from my blog title I teach in a K-12 independent school.  To be more specific, I am currently teaching 3rd grade at North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka, IL.  I love it here.

I began this blog as a way to  connect with other teachers globally and begin conversations.  I am somewhat new to Web 2.0 but I am learning as quickly as I can.

Besides teaching I also am a mother of boy/girl twins, step-mother of high school girls, and wife of the best husband on the planet (Ok - so I’m biased!) I also have two crazy dogs and several assorted fish.  My son is autistic which I believe gives me a unique perspective as a parent and as a teacher.  Stay tuned for future blog posts about him.

    Hey Amy!
Great to hear from you, and welcome to the tecchy world! I’m still such an old-school dude with all this — email, webpage, maybe facebook, but dear god no blog and don’t even talk about ipods or IM-ing.
When are y’all going to Google-Map a trip to California?
    Huh?
    Love to you & family.
    David

    David-

Sorry that I haven’t had a chance to respond before now. I am so excited that you visited my blog. We would be glad to visit you all if you could only move California a little closer to us? Seriously, our next quest is getting Mara off to college and then we might be more free to travel with the brood we have left. Also, since there are more of us than you-all, you could come this way instead?? Just a suggestion! Keep in touch!

Amy Kenyon - do you have any relations named Jerry Kenyon? Your site is awesome.
